Lomond Radio, a popular online radio start-up that was created by a group of friends to offer support to their local communities during the challenges of the global pandemic, is set to elevate its presence by expanding their broadcast area on Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) and begin to broadcast on new transmitters in Langbank, Dunoon and Gourock from Thursday 1st August 2024.

Lomond Radio has been capturing the hearts of listeners since their launch in March 2020 broadcasting online via their website, mobile apps and smart speakers. Back in March, Lomond Radio began broadcasting on DAB Digital Radio across Glasgow. As from this Thursday, you will be able to hear the station across Dumbarton, Vale of Leven, Helensburgh, Greenock and Dunoon on DAB Digital Radio.

Run entirely by volunteers and broadcasting from their state-of-the-art studio in Strathleven House, Dumbarton, the truly local radio station has been entertaining the local area with a jam-packed schedule of diverse programming from country music to funk and soul, from love songs to rock and everything in between. The station proudly supports and promotes local bands and artists with shows such as Talent Spotlight and Fresh Sounds and provides a voice for local charities and voluntary organisations. As a non-profit organisation, the radio station can offer opportunities for local businesses to promote their products and services through very affordable advertising packages.

Director and Chairman, Alan Caldwell commented “We’ve been working to bring Lomond Radio on DAB Digital Radio to the local area for some time now and delighted to be able to confirm that as from Thursday 1st August, you’ll be able to hear us on DAB Digital Radio across the local area and stay listening as you travel across Glasgow.”

Director Paul Lucas added: “It’s another exciting development in the Lomond Radio journey. We have an amazing team of volunteers producing fantastic local content which you’ll now be able to enjoy in the car or at home on your DAB Radio.”
