Background / Introduction
The Community Partnership in Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park area (The Community Partnership) is a limited company with charitable status. It was established in 2002 to support communities around the Park to achieve their ambitions. In 2010 the Community Partnership became a membership organisation with members drawn from Community Development Trusts, Community Councils and other community interest groups. Associate members are drawn from organisations, agencies and public & private bodies with an interest in the aims and mission of the Community Partnership.

The National Park supports the Community Partnership through an annual Service Level Agreement. The organisation is directed by the Board which is made up of voluntary directors appointed by community members from the four areas of the National Park: Loch Lomond, the Trossachs, Breadalbane and Cowal.

The Community Partnership helps identify and implement projects that will have a benefit to all communities in the National Park. This includes developing Community Action Plans with communities across the National Park. Community Action Plans (CAP) are documents which identify the goals and aspirations of a community and outline how they are going to achieve them. These documents are unique in that they are created by communities for communities. They provide a snapshot of the views, issues and aspirations of a community at a fixed point in time. A CAP will help a community come together to make positive changes to all aspects of community life. It provides focus and direction and helps support grant funding applications.
